Benefits of the Revised Concept Plan
The Lansdowne Revitalization brought jobs, economic uplift, support for local businesses, a better public realm and new ways of experiencing the site. Building on this, the Revised Concept Plan for Lansdowne will provide:
More Accessibility
Accessible designs for the new Stadium, Event Centre, retail and residential so that Lansdowne can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
More Active Transportation
A focus on connection and transportation, with the development of a transportation demand management plan to support easy access by transit, cycling, walking, or by car on event, and non-event, days. Our goal is to ensure Lansdowne continues to meet or exceed targets for transit and active transportation to the site.
A More Vibrant City
A site aligned with City priorities, including the City’s Official Plan, Nightlife Economy Strategy, Music Strategy, and Ottawa Tourism Major Events Strategy.
More Green, Sustainable Infrastructure
Replacement of a highly inefficient facility with sustainable infrastructure, with LEED Silver being targeted for the new Event Centre and the North Side Stadium. This will build on the LEED ND Silver designation for the entire site.
More Liveability
Supports the densification of the site, creating a vibrant urban active lifestyle community in the heart of the City.
More Housing
New residential units, and investments towards affordable housing, will add much needed housing in the core and help meet density targets set out in the new Official Plan.
More Economic Uplift
Significant economic uplift to the City and region, creating more jobs, generating more tourism dollars, and supporting more community initiatives. Building an even better Lansdowne will generate an additional $565 in economic benefit and over 5,000 new jobs.
More Community
More opportunities for community partners to take advantage of the new spaces, and more community building and involvement from OSEG teams and partnerships. Since 2017, the OSEG Foundation has contributed more than $3.7M in programming and community investments, and REDBLACKS and 67’s players have invested over 7,000 hours every year engaging with the community.
